Read John 1:1-5
The Word is ETERNAL. Before time began, the Word “was.”
The Word is INTIMATE. The Word was “with” God, face-to-face, inclined toward his Father.
The Word is DEITY. The Word was God.
The Word is CREATOR. All things were made through Him. So this includes the donkey sharing his stall and the stars shining over his manger.
The Word is LIFE. In Him was life: teeming, abundant and pulsing with joy.
The Word is ILLUMINATING. The life was the light of men. “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shined.” (Isaiah 9:2)
The Word is JESUS. The Word became flesh. He was given a name. “You shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21)
The Word is IMMANUEL. He dwelt among us. He came near us. He was with us.
The Word is GLORIOUS. We have seen his glory as of the only Son from the Father. “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power.” (Revelation 4:11a)
The Word is GRACIOUS. Full of grace and truth. “…in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:7)
