Why plant churches in America?

I’ve been asked, “Why are you planting a church in the U.S.? Don’t we already have enough?” I’ve got opinions on the issue but Tim Keller puts it nicely: http://www.redeemer2.com/resources/papers/why%20plant%202%2011%20TLeaders.pdf

  • Jay,

Thanks for sharing that article. It’s funny to me, because as I look at doing ministry away from the US, one question I’ve faced is, ” Why don’t you minister here? Don’t we have plenty of needs here to work on?” Everyone seems to have strong opinions. Yet who can discern the ways of God?

    Kris,

It’s both right? We need churches being planted in America and around the world. Local and global outreach is a necessity.
