Some time ago a friend and seminary professor taught me the progression one should follow in determining what they do and where they go in ministry. In short he shared with me the following:
VISION –> VEHICLE –> VENUE
He told me, “First, you must have a clear vision for ministry. Your vision will drive you when things get challenging. Your vision will remind you of what you’re doing when things get cloudy. Everything begins with vision.”
My friend went on to teach me, “Your vision will direct you to the appropriate vehicle to execute your vision. And once you’ve established your vision and determined the vehicle that will help you get there it will point you to the right venue – the place where the vision will be carried out.”
Understanding this progression is really what galvanized my desire to join God’s story of transformation and renewal (vision) through church planting (vehicle) in Columbus (venue).
Praise God for people like my friend who give others direction while mobilizing them to engage in a life of ministry.
Gabe, so excited for what God is going to do through You and Jay and Scarlet City Project and your families- you have always had a clear vision of reaching others with the gospel, I am so glad you have found the vehicle and the venue, we are praying for you. Tracy
